Brief Description of Event: All Liberty Fest volunteers must attend one training session. Staff will discuss Canton Leisure Services policies and procedures, event information, customer service expectations, and emergency information. Volunteers will receive their Liberty Fest t-shirt at the training.

Brief Description of Event: The 30th annual Liberty Fest will feature something for everyone, including a carnival, midway games, live entertainment, food and more! The three-day festival includes a spectacular firework display on Friday night.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do: Volunteers will greet guests, pass out festival information and provide directions to event attractions.
Attire: Comfortable attire and your Liberty Fest t-shirt. Athletic shoes are recommended.
Special Instructions: All volunteers will be required to attend a mandatory Liberty Fest Volunteer Training. You will receive your Liberty Fest t-shirt during training. Volunteer training will be offered the following dates and times:

Volunteer Position: Canton Lions Pancake Breakfast
Event Date: Saturday, June 17, 2023
Shift Time: 7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Brief Description of Event: The Canton Lions will host their annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the North Pavilions in Heritage Park.
All proceeds from the Canton Lions Annual Pancake Breakfast go to helping those less fortunate in the community. The Canton Lions main focus is helping sight and hearing-impaired residents that need assistance.
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:
• Help serve
• Clear tables
• Maintain the condiments table
• Help clean up
Attire: Comfortable attire, athletic shoes and your Liberty Fest t-shirt.

Brief Description of Event: Canton Leisure Services will be hosting the Thursday Night Live Concerts Series in Heritage Park. Enjoy some great music while supporting the community. Volunteers are needed to serve as monitors in the adult beverage area. Volunteers must be 21 years of age or older to participate.
Job Task:
-You will be assigned to one of three check points.
-Your job task will be to ensure that patrons do not leave the beverage area with their drinks.

Volunteer Training
Canton Township volunteers are required to attend training a minimum of one time per year. The training provides volunteers with information about upcoming events, customer service, and emergency preparedness. All registered volunteers will be emailed of upcoming volunteer training dates.
Meals on Wheels and Pheasant Run Golf Club Volunteers
For positions requiring driving, volunteers' driving records will be verified as part of their Volunteer Application. For additional information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator via email or call 734/394-5191.
Scholarship Opportunities
When financial circumstances create a barrier for participation, Canton residents may be eligible to apply for a Canton Leisure Services Scholarship, which can be applied towards Leisure Services classes and programs. Recipients may receive up to $500 per individual in a calendar year.
Please note that children currently in foster care and residing in Canton are also eligible for up to $500 in financial support in a calendar year. Formal documentation will need to be provided.
